SPIELART Network

Part of the philosophy of SPIELART is the network concept. The cooperation with partners in Munich and on national and international levels makes it possible to mutually sponsor artists and to finance their new productions, to set up international discussions on content, and also to develop perspectives and encourage long-term developments before and after the festival.

In cooperation with seven East European theatre festivals, SPIELART initiated in 2004 the European festival network Theatre/Festivals in Transition (FIT), a platform for the exchange of artistic projects, program concepts and cultural-political assessments concerning the importance of theatre festivals in the European cultural process.

In addition, 2005 saw the beginning of the model experiment Perform!Perform! in collaboration with the Gasteig Cultural Center in Munich. This experiment illustrated the necessity for increased efforts in the areas of international theatre arts and networks in the Munich theatre scene.
