With the massive, forcible migration from Belarus due to political repression, the diaspora numbers took a sharp upturn, also in Bavaria. This community enters public consciousness with cultural events and solidarity projects and becomes increasingly more organised and louder through the influx of politically educated and active exiled Belarusians. Activist Ina Valitskaya talks with Maryna Dashuk, producer for performing arts, and SPIELART co-curator Eva Neklyaeva about the Belarusian diaspora in Germany today.
Biography
Ina Valitskaya is a Belarusian diaspora activist in Bavaria and has been a board member of the Belarusian association RAZAM e.V. since February 2023. Apart from her job as a patent attorney’s paralegal in an international law firm, she is part of the organisational team for the Belarusian Minsk x Minga festival in Munich that aims to support repressed artists from Belarus.
