The perfume industry promises that wearing a scent can make you more attractive to other people. However, the way our brain processes smells is very personal - scents are connected to memories, to personal and culturally defined preferences, to a way that we do not even consciously recognise. In this open lab, we talk about which scents turn us on, reconnect us to our bodies, surprise us with a spark of sensuality. We discuss aromatic substances that have been used as aphrodisiacs by different cultures, and the contemporary research on scent and attraction; must most of all we explore everyone’s unique relationship to scents and sensuality!
