Biography
Ronen Steinke, Dr. jur., works as an editor at the Süddeutsche Zeitung. He studied law and criminology, worked in law firms, a juvenile prison and at the UN Yugoslavia Tribunal in The Hague. He wrote his doctoral thesis on the development of the war crimes tribunals from Nuremberg to The Hague. His 2013 biography of Fritz Bauer, the courageous investigator and prosecutor of the Frankfurt Auschwitz trials, was made into an award-winning film, DER STAAT GEGEN FRITZ BAUER, and translated into numerous languages. In 2020, he published TERROR GEGEN JUDEN. WIE ANTISEMITISCHE GEWALT ERSTARKT UND DER STAAT VERSAGT and in 2022 followed the bestseller VOR DEM GESETZ SIND NICHT ALLE GLEICH. DIE NEUE KLASSENJUSTIZ.
