With DISCOVER SPIELART you can get to know the festival and discover exciting topics and artists. Since springtime, the participants of the projects SPIELART DISCOVERY and very DISC O have become familiar with formats for social media in various workshops with experts. Their contributions on Instagram will give you a sneak preview into the productions of the SPIELART programme. You will be given further recommendations on our WATCHLIST on the website. There will also be individual follow-up discussions on productions, which will be co-moderated by DISCOVERY participants. In addition, there will be workshops, in which you will be able to take an active part yourselves.

During the entire festival, students of Theatre Arts who specialise in different subjects are welcome to get together on the analog and digital SPIELART Campus. Budding actors and actresses, students of directing, theatre, scenography and dramaturgy from Munich, Cape Town, Hildesheim, and Amsterdam, as well as from other places, meet in order to attend a performance together in Munich as well as on the Internet. Different perspectives and viewing habits meet in an interdisciplinary dialogue. Exchanging their impressions, describing their experiences, and developing questions for others, students will be able to reflect their own artistic visions.
In the course of the masterclass SPIELART RESPONSES students of the Otto-Falckenberg-Schule as well as the Theaterakademie August Everding deal with themes and aesthetic forms of this year's festival. They will develop artistic responses and present them in the context of NEW FREQUENCIES.
Presentation on Nov. 6 at 11 a.m., Akademietheater Mitte, Theaterakademie August Everding
Masterclass GLOBAL ANGST
Within the framework of SPIELART, the special project GLOBAL ANGST deals with social fears. The project will be realized in three consecutive formats: On October 29 and 30, the parliament will meet in the Muffathalle. Here, various fears will be collected through lectures, discussions, music and performances. These will be symbolically carried through the city center in a parade on October 31. On the same evening, Halloween, the collected fears will be symbolically burned in a ritual in public space.
In the form of a workshop with the curator Julian Warner, the participants will deal with the choreographic and performative aspects of parliamentary proceedings and street parades and develop and present their own artistic work within the framework of GLOBAL ANGST.
Together with various Munich institutions and groups, OUTREACH explores the SPIELART Theaterfestival. In close cooperation with KulturRaum München e.V., Münchner Forum für Islam e.V. and other associations, innovative formats are developed which give persons interested in culture access to contemporary forms of theatre. The objective of the programme is to build bridges between artistic production and reception as well as between cultural forms of expression. OUTREACH is based on tying in with existing structures and offers the possibility to our Munich partner institutions to actively participate in the development of an outreach programme which goes far beyond the classical formats, like introductions and artist talks.
