Young singers and songwriters (approx. 16 – 21 years old) for Munich’s international SPIELART Festival!
OPEN CALL – TEENAGE SONGBOOK OF LOVE AND SEX
Do you like singing and writing your own songs?
Would you like to present them on a stage you share with other young people?
For TEENAGE SONGBOOK OF LOVE AND SEX, produced as part of SPIELART FESTIVAL Munich, we are looking for young people who would like to join Icelandic youths on stage to sing and perform songs – specifically songs and lyrics you will be writing and developing yourself in a collective workshop environment. The songs will be sung in both English and German, and they will be about love and sexuality, reflecting your own experiences with and attitudes towards these topics. The piece was created by Icelandic choreographer Ásrún Magnúsdóttir and artist Alexander Roberts, the performance being a great success in previous iterations.
A separate version is developed for each performance venue, featuring a core team of Icelandic youths, joined by a local cast. Around seven days of workshop and rehearsals are scheduled – and the play will subsequently be performed twice as part of the SPIELART Festival. If you do not want to be present on stage, you may choose to solely take part in the workshops and rehearsals.
For whom?
12 to 15 youths between 16 and 21 years of age (roughly), from Munich and the surrounding areas. Previous experience is not required for participation!
Short description:
