The philosophy of Antonio Gramsci, who was arrested by Italian fascists in 1926, particularly his reflections on culture and the role of intellectuals, has influenced numerous artists. This includes Michael Turinsky, whose performance WORK BODY will be shown on 31.10. and 01.11.. Political scientist Uwe Hirschfeld will give an introduction and invite the audience to join in a group reading.

Biography
Uwe Hirschfeld studied social sciences in Bielefeld and Kassel. After working in the cutltural sector and youth work, he joined the Evangelische Hochschule Dresden in 1992, focusing on political theory and education. Since 2020, he has been retired and working freelance. His publications address the theory of social work, Gramsci’s political theory, as well as educational theory and didactics.
